I need to get a cave/hideout thing for my fish. She seems bored and stressed so she needs something to hide in. I have a 2g hexagon shaped tank. So anybody have an ideas?
Check the local pet store for hermit crab caves. They have some small plastic caves just big enough to fit in that tank. No sharp edges or holes where he can get stuck in either. Or plants, mine loves hiding in the leaves and resting.
I'd get a few earthenware pots. If there are holes in the bottom make sure to stop them up so she doesn't hurt herself. You can also use glass jars - I'd boil them before adding. More plants maybe? Hamster tubes are fun too, and PVC pipes.
a few people (myself included) have these little ceramic pots you can get at petco for five bucks...theyre pretty awesome and mine is a 2gal rectangular...it should fit fine.
Ok, so here is my next question. I have hermit crabs, but no longer need one of the coconut houses. It has been used in the tank, but would it be okay if I boiled it?
Cool, thanks. I got a little mug. I will post pics tonight!
