Question Ph way up..!

I live on 3 acres and I am on a well system. I set up my tank using my well water. My Ph is off the charts. I have used Ph down, two different kinds & still very high. I asked two pet store owners and one said, slowly change my water with distilled water and the other one said, spring water. My betta is fine and healthy, always swimming and comes right up to me but I just want to give him the best water. All other tests come out great.
Any & all experience replies greatly appreciated.
Also, I stopped in a 3rd pet shop and noticed two of his betas at fungus around their eyes and another one was dead. I decided not to ask this pet store owner about my Ph but I did tell him about his 3 betas. It's just a
beta with a price tag as far as most pet shop owners. How Dam Sad...!!
Just like those who raise puppies on puppy mills. You would think people who own pet shops care about pets, all kinds..., but I think it's just the opposite. Sell fish with tank and never tell them about water treating or anything else. Just ring up the dam sale..!! There should be a law.
