Okay well how long is a long time? And what is "fine" by her standards? Because goldfish can live for over 20 years.

THere is a difference between surviving and thriving. She may have kept them alive, but they were certainly not healthy and thriving. No goldfish should ever be kept in something as small as that.

Just wondering, are you doing the daily water changes on the goldfish? BEcause you should be doing daily 100% water changes in your situation.

Here is a pretty good goldfish link:

(Extra fact... fancy goldfish need 20 gallons for one, then additional 10 gallons for every new one. Comets (some report of lengths up to 2 feet) need.... 0.o) They are the worlds messiest fish. You need a pond, I'm sorry to say, to be able to keep 6 comets. My suggestion is rehoming them (I read 1 or 2 hundred gallons minimum for one comet due purely to size)

Anyways, congrats on getting a new Betta. And I'm sorry your thread was hijacked by somebody *cough*

Good luck with your Bettas, and I hope your parents let you do something about the goldfish!

If guppies are jewels, than Bettas must be rainbows
