Sorority Questions

I just got another free 55gal and stand off craigslist (I had sold the other one, I didn't like the stand it came with :D) and I plan on doing a pretty heavily planted tank and making it a sorority tank. How many females do you think I could have in a 55 gal?

3 gal- Blue/red male veiltail
10 gal- Sorority

Wow, lets see... I think you could do at least 20. That's a HUGE tank. You could also probably add some Corydoras Catfish, and maybe a school of Neon Tetras. That sorority is going to be EPIC.

Lol! Here is what I want it to look like plant wise, I don't know if that changes the numbers or not. I have considered other species but I think I just want a place for some nice looking female bettas :)

That looks like an AWESOME place for a sorority. All those plants would provide plenty of cover for a ton of girls.

That's what I was thinking as well... I don't know.. How many bettas could I put in there if I had a small school of 10 or so neon tetras?

Probably still 20. Since most people keep at least 5 females in a 10 gallon, do the math, and you still have room for a small school of neons. If you want a bigger school of neons, I'd go with just 15 girls.
