Walmart, petco, petsmart, pet stores all sell heaters that you can put into fish tanks. They might be ok to put into your bowl if it's glass, you get a small enough heater and the curvature isn't too much.

Could always get some warmer tap water and switch some out gradually for it? Conditioner needed, of course.

If it's not glass, they sell a small round heater to go under it. They aren't expensive ($15). If you don't have these things or cannot get to one quickly, do you have a heating pad?? I have one on a heating pad because it was an emergency and it keeps the water a steady 79. How cold is the water? Do you have a thermometer?

Did you honestly get a betta while you were unprepared? No offence, but you've been here long enough to know what a betta's requirements are. Most plastics will be fine with a sumbersible heating pad, seeing as they only get the water up to around 78* at the most. You can get them at any walmart, petsmart, petco, etc. If you get a heating pad, get a little glass thermometer as well.

Ditto what JK fish said.

Any plastic tank made to hold fish can be used with a heater. They will NOT melt.

When they come, you could ask them to bring a heater with them as well as your thermometer. In the mean time, keep up with water changes, find the warmest place in your grandma's house, and keep your betta bowl there. If need be, warm up a blanket (blowdry until toasty), and wrap up the bowl for some heat/insulation. Or, (I highly recommend) you could decide to take a trip to your local petstore/walmart, and get a quick cheap submersible heating pad.
