He's one of the lucky ones who was found at the last minute in the same cup as another male. His condition was horrible and I feared that he'd die if there was another second wasted without treatment. I snatched a new cup from the fish station and placed him inside hoping that he'd be alright until I could give him some proper treatment. Once the manager of Meijers heard what I had to say about the treatment of these beautiful animals he called people over to the fish station to clean out the tanks and cups. He didn't allow me to take him home for free (I didn't want to purchase him) but I couldn't bare to leave him there without any treatment and thought that it was worth the amount of money that I payed. All life is equal and deserves the proper treatment even if the hero has to sacrifice something to protect those rights. I went to several different sites to find what I needed to do in order to save this poor boy and I found this one. After doing what this site said to cure torn fins etc. I decided that once his condition was much better I'd join this site. On Saturday I bought him a 10 gallon tank and had two big decorations put inside (I still need plants) and put in a heater to keep him warm. It was time to say farewell to that 1 gallon tank and live onward without any torture. He's an active betta and adores his new tank. I just wish that he would've gotten this treatment before I found him. After reading on this site about the basics I think it's time to start learning the more difficult things like what the diseases are and how to treat them. It's safe to say that I'm a newbie in training. (Pictures of my new boy will be posted when I can get them)

PETA is nothing more than a group of cowards. They can't get the attention of several people so they target young children and state false information about the treatment certain animals get. I've seen PETA place children in cages to represent the way they claim animals are treated and they misuse woman by making them pose in nude advertisements. PETA has admitted that they don't give a **** about the treatment of woman and will remain that way until all animals are treated equal. They also slaughter over 80% of the animals that are placed into their care. PETA is a fraud and scam that nobody should support. There's no way that I'd invite PETA into my state just to terrorize everyone. If it were up to me PETA wouldn't even exist. (Lol, you're lucky that you live in London away from the stupidity of PETA)

Update on Cepheus

It appears that Cepheus is a very happy betta in his new environment. I just got home from school and found that he had built a beautiful bubble nest for me. This is the first time that I've ever had a betta build me a bubble nest. I think that Cepheus is completely recovered, but there's only one way to find out and that's to post pictures of him. (I apologize for the glares in the bubble nest picture. My room is very light in the mornings and I was using my iPod Touch to take these pictures. I also apologize for the blurry affect. I don't know why my iPod decided to do that.)

It's always great to come home to a surprise. I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw that great bubble nest next to the aquarium heater. I'm glad that he's so healthy now after such a horrible past. :-D
