Exclamation Need Quick Answers: Why are they popular?

so, my brother's doing a research paper on bettas. :3 he's got everything from their history, how we got all the neat bettas today, myths, and he wants to do why they're popular pets today.

but google fails us.

so, i ask you, people of


we know why, but he needs to cite a site he got info from, so i figured i'd ask you all, so he can put his site as a ref. x3c

Because they have wonderful individual personalities, are personable "people" pets, are hearty and don't need elabroate set ups and care, they come in every color pattern you can think of, etc.

So to sum it up I think there's a betta in the world for every single person!

Kaida- CT Female 2.5 Gal.
Julep- HMPK Male 2.5 Gal.
Fandango-HM Male 10 Gal.

I second laughing. They're pretty straight-forward to care for and the reward is great if you do it right. :) And they're pretty.

They are majestic in a tiny package. They have great personalities, can live alone in a (relatively) small setup and have beautiful colors and fins.
