Flakes as part of a balanced diet?

Hey there. So, I've a question-- what do you think of flakes as a supplementary food for bettas? I've been trying to increase the range of foods my boys eat-- new life spectrum betta formula is still my staple, but I've added another type of pellet, frozen bloodworms, freezedried bloodworms, and now flakes to my fish's diets. the freezedried bloodworms I use once every two weeks or so, just small sprinkle in addition to a pellet or two. I know freezedried/flake foods aren't the best... but are they good in small amounts now and again?

I'm no expert but I feed a mix of flakes and frozen, heavier on the frozen - bloodworms, brine shrimp, freshwater mix. I alternate the type of flake throughout the week - Omega-1 betta buffet, and Angels Plus garlic, vitamin plus and spirulina. I soak the flakes for a minute before giving them to D'Argo and am amazed by how much the expand.

D'Argo became part of our family on 4/6/11
His home is a 10 gallon planted tank.

I feed:
NLS Small Fish Formula
Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp
Bettamin flake.

It adds more to Akira and Kai's diet because it has bloodworms as well from what I read. They both go insane for bettamin.
