His coloring is hard to capture in pictures but his body is blue with a dark/black head and the fins are yellow and blue. I've always wanted a betta colored like this. Also I tested the water from his cup and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
No idea really, the cup wasn't labeled. But the store only sells males so I just assumed it's a very young male. Is mg mustard gas? What does that mean really?
MG is a Blue/Black betta with yellow fins and a blue/black butterfly band around all fins. S/he almost makes it, but the blue bleeds from the body to fins too much & the band is uneven.
I'm hoping he colors up a bit more but I'm fine if he doesn't. What are the ways I can tell male from female? I know to look for an egg spot for females and long fins for males but that's it
Thank you!! I did them myself but they didn't really come out how I had wanted. I was going for a Halloweeny look but they came out looking more tigery lol
Egg spot, ovaries, ventral and fin length... He looks 100% male to me, at least. I don't see ovaries, and his vents are too long even for a VT female with long vents. He does look a bit pale, I think he will color up once he gets settled.
Ooh... pretty boy... name ideas-

I called my fist mustard betta (blue and yellow like yours but he was a dtpk) Dijon, after the Dijon mustard condiment. Too tired to think of names today.
Lovely betta btw!
My brother suggested Titanium and shortening it to Titan. I jokingly said he looked more of a Mango to me xD
