Oh Asleigh I just read that you are from Australia! Hi Mate!
I watched Finding Nemo last night
So I guess our little whites have a tendancy to change colors depending on what is happening. Mine got all pink last night. He was trying to pick a fight with the container of potato salad on the dining table! It was so funny. He got all swimmy and flared and pink. I think the potato salad won...lol

I hope you meant blood worms... mealworms are for reptiles and birds! I dont think they would be good for bettas AT ALL. Getting him some pellets would be great :) A bloodworm treat every week would be great too. ;D
