Incoming! (Naming Thread)
I won this girl in an online auction, so almost no idea of what her personality is like yet. I've attached a picture from the listing, but it's really small, so I don't know how well you'll be able to see her. In the past, most of the names I've used have been either obscure LOTR characters (Glorfindel, Bombadil, etc.) or used words from Tolkien's Elvish. My current boy (Chalcedony) is named after a pretty kind of stone. When I write, a lot of the animals in my stories have names that are a blend of German and/or Gaelic words.
Here are some of the names I'm considering, but I am open to more suggestions.
Akoya - a type of pearl that comes in pink
Bàn - (Gaelic) white
Réalta - (Gaelic) star or light
Loinnir - (Gaelic) shine, light, shimmer
Glanz - (German) gloss, shine, luster, splendor, sheen, glory
Of course, I can't be sure how she'll color up. I don't know much about her current living conditions or if the pictures on the listing are representative of her true coloring. She'll be shipping out to arrive on Friday after the snowstorm has passed. I'll update with more pics of her then.
