@kathstew: Thanks for the reply! :) Heheh, I'm glad you think Texas is pretty. :) That female on your avvie is quite the looker, too! :) I love the black mask she has on. What's her name?
Thanks! I think my tank looks horrible, though. I'm still a n00b at growing aquatic plants (after one year...). I have kept fish before, namely Corydoras(<333333333) and some tetras, but I'm still quite new to betta keeping. :) I hope to one day start a big tank full of Corydoras and maybe some tetras (Rummynoses <3333 and maybe some Serpaes to take one chore off my mom's giant daily to-do list, she has two and a school of 5 would make them really happy, plus eliminating her having to take care of them since they would be fed along with the fish I want to put in there). She has agreed to this plan and maybe I'll start on this rad project sometime this summer! :) This would be on my mother's budget though, not mine!
I don't think my mom would like to find a bucket full of mosquito larvae in the backyard, we already have enough mosquitos and she'd explode with madness if she found out OTL.
I may put some plants up for giveaway or sale sometime soon on this forum, this place needs more planted tanks! My betta loves them and I hope to see many other people's bettas loving them too! :)
Thanks for the compliment. That's Ocean (LOL, my mom named her.) She is one of my first bettas, I got her and her sister Drama Queen at the same time. They are both in my sorority, with four other bettas.
I think Texas is beautiful. I don't usually like bettas that are a solid color, but he's gorgeous!
Nah, your tank looks awesome, I wish my tanks were all planted. I'm slowly starting to switch to planted. My sorority has a lot of moneywort and anubias. I'm also getting some java moss in the mail soon.
I LOVE corydoras, I'm hoping to get some in my next tank, whenever that is! LOL. Rummynoses are cool. I've never heard of Serpaes, but I looked them up and they look AWESOME. I may have to get some soon now, LOL.
I'm too low on money to have any kind of project this summer! Lucky lucky, my mom doesn't exactly hate my fish obsession (she has one herself) but she thinks I should've stopped at two, and I know have 10 bettas!
LOL, I mentioned to my mom once about the bucket of water, and she wasn't impressed. XD
Put me on the top of the list if you give away/sell any plants, (especially moss or duckweed if you have it!)! :)
The pictures of Texas look really good, and he looks really happy in his tank. Has he made any bubblenests yet? He looks really TINY, LOL.
Edit: I love doubletails too, I've been looking for them forever, but no where near me sells them, so I am starting to save for a more expensive guy off Aquabid. :)
Sororities are AWESOME. I have a 10 gallon sorority with 6 females. It was quite difficult at first, they fought a but. More stress worrying about them than anything though. After a few days things settled down, and they are all quite happy together. They've even paired off into little "cliques". Its adorable. I love waking up and having them all rush to the front of the tank to say hello. :)
Plakats are very nice as well. I have one, that I got from petsmart. He was labeled as a female, and was supposed to be for my sorority, but I realized he was a male a few weeks later (he hadn't been in the sorority yet luckily). Now he lives happily in a 5.5 divided tank with a halfmoon betta. He is my biggest bubble nest builder. But my newest guy (my avatar) is catching up, and may surpass him :P
