Hi from FL

Ok, so I have a Crowntail. Pics if you really want to see them are HERE I have had him for a few days now.

I read in the interwebz that they eat mosquito larva in the wild. Well I live in fla and just caught a mosquito larva! is it cool to feed the fish these things? I'm excited to see him eat the thing.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! Beautiful crowntail betta. I am also interested in feeding mosquito larvae...I haven't tried it yet though...So I don't have much experience there..Plenty of it around here though!

Thanks for the comments on the fish :). I'm really interested in feeding mosquito larva. And the nutritional value of feeding this.

I read a post the Oldfishlady made about feeding her bettas with mosquito larva when she was conditioning them. she said that she caught them and rinsed them with clean, treated water before feeding.

By all means I think it would work out just fine if you rinsed them off with untreated, but clean, water. And since they're so tiny, I think it's safe to feed in large quantities.

Your crowntail is very pretty too.

Welcome to the forum!! From what I know it's fine to feed them to bettas. I have never done it, because my the goldfish in my pond get them all. ;)

Your crowntail is beautiful!
