Decisions, decisions

Tomorrow I'm buying a ten gallon for my birthday So, I've narrowed it down to 2 possibilites... start a sorority, or a male betta with some other fish. I have some questions!
  • In a sorority of maybe 5, would I be able to add other fish, or would it be overstocked?
  • I already have one female betta, would I be able to add her to the sorority (I've read the sticky)?
  • What types of fish are good with male bettas, and what are suggested? (no fin nippers, obviously)
I need your opinions, also pros and cons of these two ideas. Sorry for all the questions! Anything will help, thanks!

One 70.G Cichlid Tank-2 Parrotfish, 1 Red Bay Snook, 1 Jack Dempsy, 2 Mayan Cichlids, and 1 Spotted Catfish
1.5 Gallon tank with male butterfly halfmoon-Charlie and 1 mystery snail
10 Gallon tank with female veiltale- Lulu and 2 Mystery Snails
3.5 Nano Saltwater Tank with yellow goby-Buttercup, 3 red leg cortez crabs, 2 nassarius snails, 3 hidden cup corals
One misfit jack russel-rat terrier mix-Ginger

1: 5-7 females is a good number, i have 5 fems, 3 guppies and a large catfish in my 2 foot (not sure its water holding lol)
2: yeh she should be ok introduce all the females to the tank at once though to avoid a queen of the tank and having adding to the tank later, its easier to add them all together
3: neon tetras, guppies, rummy noses? mollies maybe
catfish plecos and such are also good, the cattys have purpose too they algae cleaners lol

Female Bettas:Gaia,Bubbles,Tabitha, Rani, Kelsey, 4 unnamed Male Bettas:Oscar, Spyro, Cookie Monster, Kermit The Frog, Grover II, Alvin, Archillies, Moostash
Snails: Yoshi,Peach,Lugi,Mario
Others:Quismodo, Esmerelda, Lavern, Banch(<Guppies) 2 unnamed bristle noses, 2 unnamed reticulate "yoyo" loaches
Furbabies: Kobi & Beau

Thanks Abby! I think I'm going to have 5 females, but I'm still stuck on Tank mates. Would I be able to have 4-5 neon tetras with them? Or is that too much, and are they fin nippers?
