Anyone else have a cowardly betta?

Jalen is afraid of his reflection. When he catches sight of himself in a mirror, he flares for a second, then runs and hides. Sometimes he tries to find a way to escape out of his tank. And until very recently, he was terrified if my hand so much as hovered over his tank. Who knew that Siamese fighting fish could be so... mild?
All of my past bettas have been just as aggressive as you would expect a betta to be. But not Jalen. :P Anyone else have some less-than-brave bettas?

Meeee! Jazz is alone in a 10 gallon tank...and I know its not the filter, but he spends most of his time hiding. I got him the 17th, and only recently have I been able to get him to eat. I was thinking about dividing the tank and getting another male...would that help him? Eventually I want a divided 20 gallon with two males (divided into 5 gal each) and 10 gallons for a sorority...ike male/sorority/male XP -end ramble-

My Mojo is totally passive... he runs from his reflection and I have never seen him flare, once. I read online that some people have bread docile betta's over & over to try to breed out their aggression & dominance, but I do not know the validity of that.

I heard OFL has been doing that, and she can keep like 3 males in a tank for a litttle while, and they won't fight
