Just got my betta >

so guys i just got my BETTA TODAY !!!!! purdy lil crowntail black and red and bright blue and purple ( well atleast i think hes de stressing in his tank with the lights off . Hes swimming a lil here ans there, he was bunking up by the heater for a lil . he seames freaked out a liul by the filters outflow wave thing, im not sure how i can make that better, its like the smallest flilter for a 10 gal. im not sure if its pushing him down but everytime he gets near it he flips out and swims away. now hes kinda chilling behind some plants on the other side of the tank. YAY he just found his cup i got him its near the heater so its warm and its a nice lil place for him to de stresss. thats good e was laying on top of it for a while i was lil silly go inside lol. hes coming up for air and what not. BUt my question is... When do i turn his tank lights on,?

i turn mine off in the morning and off when i go to sleep

i mean i just put him in his tank today , but how long should i wait and let him destress befor i turn his lights on.

Yes, wait a little bit. Let him chill out for the rest of the day, maybe tomorrow too.

Leave the lights on a while afterwards. Remember to shut the lights off at night.
Unless you have plants, they dont need to be on all the time or anything. 6 hours is a good idea :)
