Walmart Customers Don't Care

I work at Walmart in the pet section, and I haven't convinced one person who is buying a Betta that they need atleast a 2 gallon tank.

Their excuse is always the same "I kept one in a vase with a plant and it lived for a year."

Yes... it SURVIVED for a year... good job...

Most people who come into walmart don't give two craps about anything... ><
But then again, there are the poor college kids like me who take very good care of their pets. :)

Just because I don't type with candy and rainbows doesn't mean I'm being mean.
My opinions are based on research and experience. Ask for help!

Walmart sells those dumb pink rocks.... but despite 5 or 6washes in HOT water, the paint comes off and clouds the water

Is it possible that they're just uneducated? They've had past experiences and figured their fish were happy and are probably assuming you're just trying to make a bigger sale?

Doubtful. I always show them the aquariums and say, "These small ones are just for money. They aren't really for Bettas at all."

I always point out that the 5 gallon kit plus heater lets you keep just about any small fish there, that the betta will love it and that the larger the tank the easier it is to care for them.

All true facts and the total cost is $35.00!

It is sad that the people that come into walmart get a Betta for the heck of it. Makes me angry.
