I had trouble with Victor mk 1. He was a blue veiltail betta and he only lasted 4 days or so. =( I still don't know how he died, but I think my main mistake was introducing him to the aquarium before it had fully cycled. I think his immune system may have been slightly down from the moment I got him, and the water quality just triggered everything off. So I decided to wait a few more weeks until my aquarium had got my established, and now Victor mk 2 seems quite happy. I'll keep an extra eye on him though, just in case.

I nearly killed my first (within 15 years) betta while the nitrogen cycle was kicking in the tank with him inside. I decided to take him out after a horrendous ammonia reading, and he was very sick for a while afterwards, and I wasn't sure what was wrong with him. He got better after I seeked help from this forum... he recovered and thanked my saving his life by ripping his tail off every fortnight. *sigh*

Who said keeping a fish is easy? Only those who don't really care.
