I've only been bitten when I encouraged it. Sticking my fingers over them. Hovering my fingers over the water for the girls is an invitation to snarf!

Scuzi is the most likely to try and bite me for thoughts other than food, but Scuzi is just special...

It startles you more then hurts lol.. 2 of mine will bite if I'm not careful. If late for their dinner they will jump out of the water as soon as they see my fingers with their food in them and sometimes end up biting me. Don't know how many times I've shrieked because of that, but my boyfriend sure has a good laugh at me when I do lol.

Breeder so I have too many to count and too many named to list here!

LOL this has happened to me a few times, I had a super aggressive boy that would hang off my finger too..

I think it just surprised me more than it hurt. :)

None of my bettas have ever bitten me but my parrot cichlid bites me all the time -_-"

When I gravel vac his aquarium he chases my hand around and continuously pecks at it, it doesn't hurt and hes significantly larger than a betta lol.. feels like a little pinch almost.

Haha. I do not like being bit. No, it doesn't hurt, but it scares me and makes me jump. And yes, the fish could end up on the floor (which is what happened to mine all those years ago, though she was fine). I know that my female would probably bite me if she was given the chance. However, my boys actually seem calmer and less likely to do so. Not that I will ever give them the chance!

Remember that the tank your fish lives in is his or her's whole world. Ask yourself this question, and answer it honestly: would you choose to live there?

Mine would eat me alive if he had the chance. It's like a bad dream.

I actually kind of like the feeling of them biting. It's so cute and tiddly, and they think they are soooo bad. :p
What creeps me out is when I have my hand in the sorority tank, vaccuuming away and then something crawls over my hand like a spider...except it's a cherry shrimp, being cute and cheeky. I love that - when my heart slows down, anyway.

Life.
