Yep. I set two poor dead guys on the counter by the employees who were talking in the back and just walked away. They looked at me funny, but actually noticed the dead fish.
Sadly, they're only making minimum wage, aren't given proper training, and are usually short-handed for the amount of care they need to give their fish. If the people at the corporate level cared more, it would trickle down and bettas would be seen as living things, not just chipped merchandise to be tossed.
