I get my fish directly from Thailand. I've only ordered HMPKs (avatar boy) but the process is the same.

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.

Aquabid. You just bid on the Betta and if you win it. Then pay, most likely using PayPal

Many AB sellers also have a BIN (Buy It Now).

From another thread I posted on:

Ok so first, bettas are packed by the hundreds in huge boxes along with flowerhorn and livebearers. They are shipped overnight to an international airport where they are checked by customs and then given to the transhipper who has an import license.

Bettas are sorted and packed into individual customer boxes and sent out.

General fees are as follows (for USA at least):

$5 per betta shipping from Thailand
$0.60 import fee to transhipper
$5 box fee to transhipper
$2 heat pack fee to transhipper
$20 at least for shipping to transhipper

I pick up fish from US transhipper Linda Olson so Im familiar with the tranship process.

Linda is probably a good choice. She has the best packing of any other shipper. You can find her phone number on any Aquabid auction. It's faster to call her.

thank you I will contact her. I have always got my bettas from pet stores here in Kentucky and I have wanted a halfmoon for along time. I was just afraid of getting bettas thru shipping.
