Oh I would hunt those pieces of **** down! And make sure they had a few unexplainable knots on their head before they got to the police station.

I don't take vandalism and thievery well, if someone threatens my house they're likely to get shot. And I have on morethan one occasion gone outside to investigate noises pistol in hand, though in those situations I've taken to loading it with rubber pellets.

I live in Colorado as well; I'm near Longmont. To be honest, I'm not surprised we've been having so many fires...with all the record breaking hot weather and lack of rain we've had, it's incredibly easy for a fire to get out of control.

I haven't heard that anyone is starting these fires, but I really wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true. Probably some pyromaniac trying to make a name for themselves.

Did you hear about the Estes Park fire? They were able to put it out just a few hours after it started, thank goodness. I was really worried that it would spread into town. I just went there with some family a few weeks ago, and it was very beautiful...I'd love to live there some day.

What gets me is that there are wild fires in Ohio and the dumbs***s there are trying to blame guns. The outrageousness!

Do people really need a scapegoat for every tragedy?!

Some people have no soul and no regard for life. We'll never be able to understand their sick twisted minds.

I hope all who are affected stay safe. And I hope they catch the nutjobs soon.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

I love Estes Park. We practically lived up there one summer when we lived in Longmont. My dad worked at a grocery store there.

Mamejenny, It's definitely arsonists setting these fires. They tried ignite the fire behind the walmart in woodland park again, there's one in estes park and now a new one out east. These poor firefighters are stretched so thin.

We went on top of a hill probably 10-15 miles away from the fire to watch it, the flames are apparently over 100 feet tall with zero containment. Woke this morning to police ordering evacuation of manitou springs, a town connected to the west side of Colorado Springs. The fire is about 3 times as wide as it was last night, and you can see ash falling like it's snow.

:/

We saw a story about the fires on the national news tonight. They mentioned the one in Manitou Springs. They said they were evacuating some areas in and around Colorado Springs.

Yup, that's us. A friend of mine in Germany heard it on the news and asked if we were okay.

3600 acres gone, zero containment.

I heard on the news earlier that the High Park fire has now destroyed more houses (and "structures") than any other fire in Colorado history. It's burned over 80,000 acres, destroyed 250 houses and is only 45% contained.

I wish we could get a good rain storm here! That would put out all these fires right away.
