How does one attain a job?

As a college student, I'm broke.

I don't have a car, so I can't get a job off campus.

I don't have work study so I can't get a job ON campus.

So basically I'm stuck looking for an online job.

Does anyone know how I would obtain such a thing?

I figured it'd have to be through connections, but seeing as how all my connections are looking for "Experienced/advanced works" and I'm just sitting her like an idiot, I don't know what to do.

Could I have some advice, and maybe a steer in the right direction?

I seem to have a problem with collecting things with scales and fins. Oops

When I went to college, I would look at the jobs available board in the student union, and ride my bike there. Of course that only works if you have a bike and the job is reasonably close.

I don't even have a bike T-T
Plus, they get stolen here so I wouldn't attempt it...

I don't believe mine has a job board. There is a wbsite the campus provides but all jobs are either for those with experience or with a car.

Try a "temporay placement agency".

Here in PA we have TempForce.

Since you're in NY... try Aerotek. They may have jobs up there for you.

They aren't full time jobs, and you could get laid off unless you sign a contract.

Yeah temp agencies pay surprisingly well for clerical work! They'll probably have you take a typing test and ask about your work background, and you'll do assignments for various companies. Usually this includes hours of filing and printing stuff for HR departments. Tedious work, but like I said, pays pretty darn well. And the working conditions are generally good. You can never blow off the agency though, or quit a job midway, they will note it in your file which will mean you won't get the good jobs anymore.

You could also look into industries that commonly have work-from-home positions, like medical or legal transcription, online tutoring services, that kind of stuff.

Hmm I can definitely look at something like that. I just hope that they don't expect TOO much of me since I'm still in college o.o

Like, you know, spending 18 hours a day typing up stuff when I need to be doing papers.

They help you find a career. Not so much just jobs

They charge outlandish tuition the least they could do is help you find a part time job so you can pay the tuition!

Do you know any other students who have jobs? Maybe they have some advice.
