Scariest hurricane experiences?
You don't have to read my story, bit I dare you to top mine :P
So I was biking in the storm and it was soaking wet, I was completely soaked through, couldn't see three feet ahead, rain stinging face and eyes and a steady stream coming off my nose and chin, having an awesome time, and I come upon a bridge, and I go around a sharp turn that puts me where I would be about 20 feet away from the river. I end up in the river instead D: And not just a little stream like it normally is, I'm talking rapids. I grab the rail that almost saved me, and I realize I can't pull myself over the rail AND save my bike! Well so I'm sitting there for a minute, pondering certain death for me, or certain death for my best friend (aka my bike). I let go with one hand and grab my bike, (I had been holding it with my legs) and pull it under the rail (under water) while I'm still on the river side of the rail, and I sorta hook the handle bars around the vertical rail beam, and now I have to escape. I stil can't get over the rail without letting go of my bike whick will still wash away if my hand weren't balancing it, so I have to swim between the railing bars (about 2 feet apart) which was extremely scary, what would happen if I got caught and couldn't come up to breathe? I grabbed my bike underneath the railing and kept one hand on the railing. The current was still pulling me down the river, and I could feel my hand sliding down the railing slipping off, so I could barely pull my self down and through the bars, I had to swim and I was tempted to kick my shoes off like they say, but they were rain boots and too small, so too much effort :P I swam under, now on the other side of the rail, I wrapped my legs around my bike, and started pulling myeslf up the rail, against the current, remeber it had pulled me pretty far down the rail so I had a good ways to pull myself up. I finallly got up and out, kinda shaken, but okay, and my trusty bike is there with me :D so I turn around and decide to take a different route :P
Btw this whole thing took about a minute, I over-dramatized it, but its still true :P And don't worry if I had really felt in danger I would have let my bike go.
