I just purchased the recently published StarCraft2 Novel Flashpoint I have never really had any interest in reading fiction but I thought having a novel with actual lore from a game that I enjoy is probably the best that I'm ever going to get to reading that genre. So far it is enjoyable, I find it tiresome to read a lot of the descriptions to create the setting but I understand that it is necessary because without it there can be a lack of imagination.

I finished reading most of James Patterson's Alex Cross mystery books. Really good but maybe not for those younger than 15 or so. I finished the Inheritance cycle last year but I wanted to know if anyone has read that? Eragon books? So good I loved them.

I was sooo upset with the ending in the last book in the Inheritance Cycle!! It was like he just like he threw something together in five minutes to end the book after he did such an awesome job with the rest of the books. >:(

The only books I recognized the titles of from you guys is Game of Thrones (of which I LOVE the show) and 50 shades (which I am NOT interested in lol).. Can't say I do much out-of-school reading but for English we read Canadian literature: Stephen Leacock's Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, Anne Carson's Autobiography of Red, Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient, Jane Urquhart's The Whirlpool and then two Canaidan poets, Don McKay and Margaret Atwood (Atwood wa better but I'm not a big poetry lover)

Since I have all of those under my belt, and it's the holidays so I can do some ME reading, I picked up Pierre Berton's Marching As To War. It is a huge hardcover about Canada's role in 4 major wars of the 19th Century. I read the foreward and first chapter while I should have been studying for exams so I'm really excited about picking it up again :)

Okay, so any animal lovers NEED to read Beautiful Jim Key. The story about the guy who owns the horse is AMAZING. It makes you wish the guy was alive now so that you could meet him. What a cool guy! The horse is also so smart and the story makes you believe that the impossible is possible.

(Also, another AWESOME animal story is Modoc, about the relationship between an elephant and her boy, it is a true story. And one of the best animal stories I have ever read!)
