Plants that I have managed not to kill -PIC HEAVY!-

I will be the first to admit that my name is uttered in hushed tones in the houseplant dept at any local store, because I cannot (for the life of me) keep plants very well.

So far, in my 25 years of life, I've had ONE houseplant NOT die on me, and it was a pathetic poinsettia that my ex had given me. My MOM was the one who killed that, she put it outside because her cat used it as a toilet, and it was frostbitten in October of '09. It had grown from 4 leaves to a BUSH and I'd had it for almost 3 years. I was depressed to say the least.

Just before Christmas (and before I was kicked out and had to move in with Mike and his grandma), Mikel bought me a new poinsettia. It almost died in the 2 weeks after I was kicked out before I could go back and get it, but somehow, I brought it back around, and here it is now, with my "money tree". (My Poinsettia's seem to stay red all year for me, not sure why)

OUTSIDE:
We decided to do some container gardens this year instead of flowers (although there are still flowers out there), so we could get the drop on "Sustenance" Gardening for when we move this fall. We need the practice lol.

Outside we have
Ageratums

Rhubarb

Strawberries, half dead mini rose, spinach, and romaine lettuce

2 grape tomatoes and a green pepper

Pansies on the left, Mossrose and Ageratums on the right

more half dead mini (Koran) roses, and a "Mixed" tea rose in memory of my dog, Belle (she passed away in 2006, FINALLY found a rose that reminded me of her).

Spinach

Romaine Lettuce, one of the other plants blocked most of the light in the garage, so they're a little yellow

And our newly green patio!

Looking good Skye. Springtime is so awesome and your off to a real good start.
Ive got some plants started but worried a bit because we always get a snow or frost late in May and have to get plants back inside at least once. I re use the old fish water on my patio plants it makes terrific fertilizer. Good luck.

You could try what my neighbor told me, he's big on gardening and has an lovely yard. He said to use a 50/50 mix of soil and manure to grow plants, and to plant in the fall because they'll germinate in the winter and grow in the spring. I followed his advise growing my mimosa, which I grew from seeds, and 6 years later after being buried in snow, burning hot arrid summers, and drowned in a massive rain storm is still going strong.

Thank, Mattsbettas! The lettuce tastes as good as it looks too ^_^

I haven't dug into the spinach yet (I'm not a fan personally, but Mikel is)

I like baby spinach in my salad, but I'm not crazy about it. Too traumatized by that canned nonsense!

Canned? Ugh! I was raised on fresh vegetables (grandma keeps a garden). The thought of canned greens makes me shudder.

Your garden looks awesome, Skye. For a condo, you sure have a lot of plants.
