Gee, I feel lost. I have no idea what thread you're talking about, or what users..... Hopefully, it's not me, though! I'll just assume it's not. If it is, well, just tell me.
(Does this make me sound slightly paranoid? LOL)
In general, I post on the Diseases/Emergency forum. If someone posts about a disease or illness that is unusual, I research the condition, along with medical and/or drug information before posting a reply. It actually takes a lot
of time to do this.
In the end, it's up to the OP to decide what advice to follow. Do I think my advice is "correct?" Well, yes. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted it.
However, I recognize that not everyone thinks the way that I do. If they want to treat/medicate their fish differently, well, it's their fish. (I sometimes wonder why people "ask" for advice when they already have a set plan in mind. There are times when they ignore "sound advice," then show up a few months later, hysterical that their fish is ill, and I think to myself, "Well, what did they expect?")
As for habitats: I'd rather see a fish in a small tank with frequent water changes and the proper temperature, than one that's neglected in a large tank.
If you see a post that is rude, you can report it. I've noticed a big turnover in moderators lately. (With regard to the Diseases/Emergencies forum, OFL and Sakura were big losses!) So I don't know how this affects the response time, but in the past, a mod usually appeared pretty quickly when threads started to go bad.
