I am outraged; LOOK at this!

Fellow fish lovers, I live in a small town of rural western Kentucky. One of the sewage pumps in town has went out, and the city is pumping RAW SEWAGE into the creek that runs parallel to our property. I have emailed the Kentucky Division of the EPA with the ammonia test result. It is off of the chart as you can see. We have found two dead snapping turtles, and I know that no fish or invertebrate can withstand ammonia levels like this.
Any similar experiences?

Oh my. Good for you for sharing that picture evidence, and hope it doesn't get worse.

I also video taped them in the act yesterday. This is highly illegal, and I will not stand for it! The creek was teeming with crayfish and small blue gill...

That's sad and disgusting. Please tell us what the EPA says!

I'm wishing you the best of luck for the EPA to come crack down on this! Horrible!

Also, I know it may sound weird, did you send the EPA photos of the dead turtles? It might help light a candle under someone's behind

Nasty

I did however, once get a betta from petco where the ammonia test turned blue. Supposedly that's about an 11?? Amazingly enough, the fish lived a pretty normal life

What a terrible and irresponsible thing to do! Good luck, I will be watching this thread to see how the EPA responds.

Yikes. Sadly, without public media attention and a hard crackdown on what they're doing they might continue to do this. This happens everywhere- believe it or not.

Nobody would have found out about the chicken farm in my city dumping their pig waste (they process pig) off the side of the building into the ground until it leaked into the lake that everybody jogs and walks daily. It was on the news and people were discusted, outraged. Humiliated the plant into a very hasty cleanup.

Call all the news stations around you.
