Personally I don't like them-one, they are too small and often the female will stress in them and abort, two, poor water flow and so the water can go bad faster.
I keep lots of plants both rooted and floating for the fry to hide and feed in.
I like lots of naja grass or sometimes called guppy grass-this plant is an easy low-mod light plant that can be floated or planted and it will get pretty dense
I like to use water lettuce as a floater for its long roots that hang down in the water column, great for fry to hide/feed in.
When raising guppies I found that keeping a species only tank with lot of plants works best.

I don't mean to steal your thread, XrAdEr, but can you keep guppies without breeding them inadvertly? Is that inevitable? Sorry, but I know next to nothing about guppies and I'm curious. :)

Only way that I know to keep the guppies from reproducing is to keep the male and female separate.

Never expose the female to a male, once the female is exposed to a male she can carry up to 6 sperm packets to use when a male isn't present.

All virgin female tank and all male tank to keep reproduction in check.

I had a school of about 20 guppies and by the time I knew it 20 went to 50 which eventually ended up to 100 in a short period of time. They breed liek CRAZY.

Wish upon a fish.

Lol. All I know about guppies is from reading Henry Huggins a long time ago, where he bought a pair from a pet shop and ended up filling his room.
