Cool Pictures of my horses :)

Thought I'd share some pics of my horses. They are my babies. I love betta, but my horses are my true loves. lol

This is Electric Avenue (Electric, Lec or Bubba for short ). He is a 25 year old Hanoverian/Thoroughbred gelding. I've had him for 8 years and he's retired now.

And this is HID Streak of Smoke (Maggie, Mags or Baby Doll for short and Savannahs Smoke N Lark at horse shows.) She's a 5 year old registered paint mare. I've had her for 2 years and have trained her myself.

And both of them together

Just felt like showing them off a little bit. hehe hope you liked them

They're beautiful. I love your old man I work with a lot of older horses at the therapeutic riding facility I'm involved with.

That's cool. I think that'd be fun to do. I feel bad cause my old man has a bump on his face that we dont know what it is (had the vet out many times and tried some things for it), he has heaves and he has gone blind in one eye in the past few months. It's heartbreaking. He's an amazing boy.

Have you tried Spirulina tablets for the heaves? Skipper, the oldest horse at the barn, has a cough/heaves and they feed him spirulina tablets and it really helps.

I've never heard of those. But he's on cough free. It works pretty well. No coughing fits. Still breathes a bit heavy, but keeps him comfortable and it's natural. He's fine in the winter. And I've got some dexamethazone for super bad days (usually only once in the spring).

Yeah.. Skipper is the same way.. better in the winter. The spirulina is an algae-type thing so it's natural also. They make them into tablets and give them to him in his feed.

If he wasn't already doing well on cough free, I'd try that. I'll keep it in mind though if it ever stops working.

Beautiful horsies! I love oldies. I also used to volunteer at a therapeutic stable and the horses were mostly in their teens to mid thirties. They were always so willing and gentle . I miss being around horses.
