People are afraid to discipline their kids for fear of it being called child abuse. I don't think it's wrong to give your kid an attitude adjustment every once in awhile.
true and i would say something as well but since i am native i run a higher risk of being reported and having my children, who i had fought years for, taken away.
I have come across many parents who dont spend anytime with their children, that bond is essential to establishing positive behaviour, and also not many families nowadays dont live together as they once used to so the acceptable courteous behaviour amongst the generations is being lost.
And yes you can talk to a child and make them understand, it is a fine art to master
when it comes to a five year old. Also being consistent with time-outs and giving the reason why helps.
Some of my cousins who are parents are great examples of said parents who let their children run-a-muck in public places, touching everything in sight, whining and crying loudly for things they want, which irritates the h*** out of me because i make sure my children on their best behaviour when we are out, and when i am with them and their children i feel so embarrassed because other people think the worst of my children.
In the years i have lived here I have always gotten praise for how well my children are behaving and how quiet they are despite how many there is and being under the age of 12, i would say 8 but my oldest daughter will be 12 this year lol.
I am the type to say something and mean it, they know that if they become overly loud and unruly in a restaurant then we will leave that very minute after i ask the hostess to get our orders to go, or in a grocery store and they witness another child acting up and try to behave the same way
i will tell them such behaviour is not only rude to the other shoppers but it causes them to lose out on ice cream or some other treat i had planned to purchase, it kills me to see the look on their faces but they have to know there are actions that are just plainly not tolerated by me.
Its funny but i have had alot of people tell me I am a great mother and it shows through the actions of my children, although i think i am far from such a title
I had the great privilege of being raised by my grandparents on both sides of my family and i do think there are some things that are being lost, a child can have rights to love and safety but a firm tone of voice is needed on occasion.
