I loved my dad but he did some pretty awful things to us and my mom. I have made peace with everything and forgave him for the things he put our family through. I can't imagine what it must be like to be physically abused. What a horrible, horrible thing to have to go through. I studied psychology in college and some theorists think that once you become an adult that the stuff that happened in your childhood doesn't have anything to do with the kind of adult you become but I think it does. I know the things that happened to me during my childhood have definitely affected the person I am today.

My mother passed away last year. I hadn't seen her in over 30 years, having left home at 13 due to her abuse, and did not attend the funeral. This really upset the rest of my family, who kind of understood but didn't, if that makes sense - but I wasn't going to go to the funeral of somebody I disliked intensely just to keep them happy.

I believe parents need to earn respect just as much as kids do. Spitting out a baby isn't a terribly special skill, and sadly you don't have to be a good, responsible person to do so.

I also think people who come from abusive backgrounds and grow up to be caring, responsible parents and pet owners need more recognition. We're not all hopelessly messed up, just as many people are made stronger in various ways by the difficulties they've survived.

my rant today...ignorant people who shouldn't have pets! my friend's mother has two live bearer fish tanks, both set up with the same kinds of fish.....and she just went out and bought MORE fish...her tanks are over stocked as it is from breeding of fish... so instead of separating males and females her new solution is to flush the males down the toilet! WTH!!! so needless to say i am in the process of taking the fish so she doesn't flush them...thankfully i have the same types of fish as she does and none of her fish are sick or anything. she only has two males so that is good too. so i will not be over run with fish at the moment. and she has no cover for her fry to hide so they are being eaten (sad for the fish but at least she will be left with only female fish)

these type of people just make me want to punch them. seriously....why buy more if you still have live ones!

never stop learning, as new things are discovered everyday.

Ugh... I can't believe I stayed up this late... to calm down my best friend's boyfriend, who's having a bit of a meltdown... no one else is up, so I decided to take charge... He's one of my really good friends, and I feel sorry for the guy, and I don't wanna ditch him and tell him my eyes keep closing, but I don't want him to be on his own either... no one to talk to. He's such a sweet guy, but he worries WAYYY too much. >.> It's like... dude. Drop the subject. I've told you everything's all good. No need to freak out.

Seriously. He's so depressed he even made me cry. XD Unintentionally of course... he didn't say anything mean... just... ugh XD

Had to pass up two shifts at work because I got sick the moment we got back from holiday. :( I hate having a fuzzy brain.

Life.

Recently broke my phone, so I'm using a temporary one while I save up for a new one. also have to save up to fix my car since the rear main seal pretty much no longer exists. On top of that I still have to pay for the rest of my college this semester after having to pay for all the books.

With all the expenses added up, it's looking to be around $1046 including the monthly $100 for my phone plan and car insurance.

Also learned today that my uncle, who was previously in the hospital last month to get his gallbladder removed, is back in the hospital with pancreatitis and will probably have to have his pancreas removed as well.

Once again, the year is off to a less than pleasing start. 3 years in a row now this has happened.
