PetSmart vs. Petco vs. Wal-Mart

So far for me the PetSmart here is in the front. I finally got to visit a Petco and was NOT impressed. They did have different types of bettas but the conditions were on the level of Wal-Mart. Most were pretty nasty looking. My Wal-Mart is a hit and miss. Sometimes the bettas look good then you go back and they are terrible! PetSmart has been the most consistant so far. The employees know me now when I go in and will talk to me. They think I am a little but they are nice. Wal-Mart....not so much. I think I annoy them!!

Haha, well there arent any Petco's here. Only petsmart, and Big al's. SO far big al's is the better for Betta's and their conditions. My petsmart back home was terrible, and the one closest to my new home is ookayyyyyyyy. Sometimes good, sometimes terrible.

In regards to fish health...

My PetSmart keeps their tanks really clean and the Bettas are look healthy. Petco I will agree, has more varity, but my Petco was absolutly horrible in regards to health and man they overstocked!( they were feeding big goldfish little feeder goldfish!(Isaw!) and there were dead fish floating around, ugh.

I will say this though, My Walmart was 1% better than petco, but they closed the livefish section down.

Hmm, well I have a lot of fish...

I prefer my petsmart cause they usually take pretty good care of their bettas. My petco is just as bad as my walmart IMO! My petco only takes good care of their more expesive tail types. All of their veiltails have some problem with them when I go there and horrible water conditions! My walmart bettas are always sick.... So I say petsmart!

Petco, Petsmart. No wal-mart here. The Petsmart was pretty bad ): But the Petco around here is always amazing, except for one slip up. I think someone must've been on vacation.

Petco!!! Petco here has such happy bettas. :)

Hence why most of my bettas are from there. Example: Look at that clean water!

I must say, because all the bettas are so healthy it makes them even more addicted and hard to not buy one when I go. LOL

My local Petco has a lot of fish but they are clean and seem to be happy as they can be in the small containers. Also I've never managed to find a dead one there and as far as I can tell there is a 'fish employee' ie. a guy who never leaves the fish section. He's always buzzing about cleaning water and doing related things.

On the other hand my girlfriends local petco a few cities over is horrible with sad looking or dead fish. :c
