I also had a tambuka'ka, a rare kind of flying lizard found only in some parts of the philippines. Their wngs are expanded ribs. Here are a couple of pics I got from a site. I had mine before the advent of digicams, and so never took any photos.

It uses a webbed gular flap beneath its throat a as threat signal.

Thanks! I released the flying lizard after a few days because it won't eat anything I gave it. I was just a boy back then. In 5th grade maybe.

The monitor lizard was given to someone so he would release it in a swamp in their area, but I have a suspicion it ended up in his cooking pot.

First off hi everyone! My most unusual pet would have to be a turkey, other than that minnows and crayfish that came right from a stream!

I've had chickens. That's about the most "unusual" pets. We had a vulture who hung around our house for a while. We named him Bob. If that counts :p

Everything else is dogs, horses, parrot and fish. More normal pets. lol

Tanks- 55 gal(in progress)-Common pleco, Angels, lemon and rummynose tetra, blue rams; 29 gal planted- rasboras, corys, otos, clown plec, shrimp; 10 gal- juvenile goldfish; 6 gal planted- betta

Other Pets-Maggie(Tricolor Paint Mare),
Lily(Sun Conure), Zoe and Melina(Budgies), Leonardo- Bearded Dragon, Pilot and Phoenix(Golden Retrievers), Beckham(german shepard/akita), Myrtle and Richard(hermit crabs)

We had a rooster, Chick-chick, when i lived with my parents which is only weird because we live in suburbia not a ranch. I was in a graphic design internship and some people did a photo shoot which they bought a baby chick for. Afterwards I heard they were going to kill it so I called my mom immediately and she let me bring it home. I think my mom was more attached than me though. It turned out to be a rooster and pretty trainable. He sleeped inside at night in a closed box which he loved. My mom ended up giving it to a friend that had a farm. He apparently slept under the hen house rather than in it because of how he slept in a small box at our house and felt safer. Lol!

I have also had hermit crabs in the past and sea monkeys. Now just normal fish, dogs, and cats.

I know of someone who has a pet rooster. He has acerage out in the country, but not a farm. One day, this rooster just sort of wandered onto his property and started following the guy around, so he kept him. Apparently he is a very social and loyal pet. I've thought about having a pet rooster, but I think barking dogs are bad enough, I definitely couldn't deal with the noise of a rooster!

I have also considered a pet skunk; they're so cute and people say they're relatively similar to a ferret in behavior. But of course I couldn't have my skunk and my fox at the same time!
