I think my parents are getting me a Ramirez 125 for my 21st! :D It's pretty much the nicest classical guitar you can get short of having one hand made. Solid cedar and Indian rosewood....amazing sound. I can't wait!

I'm working on Christmas Eve. :) One of my students is going to be away, but the other one I teach on Saturdays still wants her singing lesson, so I can still go to work. And since it's the day everyone's opening their Secret Santa gifts I can tell my parents I need to be there long before I have to and I've gotten into the habit of sticking around after my last lesson ends to talk to some of the other teachers. So I'm technically only working for half an hour, but that can buy me a whole lot of time out of the house. And since I'm generally happier at work than I am at home that's just fantastic. Even if there's no one to talk no one else uses my room on the weekends so I can just go back and spend some time singing with no one to bother me about why I sing the repertoire I do and why I don't sing pop music. In fact, the people at work think it's AWESOME that I'm classically trained and even if they do hear me while I practice they have nothing but nice things to say. I love going to work. I'm so happy I can be there and not home for at least a few hours on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to me!

I have a solo on tenor recorder in the church Christmas band this year. It makes me very happy, because very few people think of recorder as a nice instrument - it's just something squeaky and bad first graders learn to play. The tenor recorder, though, played by someone who knows what they are doing, sounds gorgeous, and in Silent Night it is lovely. :) I'm so happy that people will get to hear it!

My boyfriend just got a puppy, and I got to hold her for three hours. Also, I think his mom stopped hating me, which is awesome. And then he gave me a Barnes & Noble gift card for christmas...boy sure knows how to win me over! XD

Dad came home last night. :) Also, my boss came to visit the Christmas party we were having at work (we get to throw them for the children, but not for ourselves!) and taught me some really cool advanced balloon modelling. Next time I see him, I'm going to make him teach me to make Tinkerbell.

Went boxing day shopping with two of my buds today, and got a few really great deals ^^ May be going tomorrow, too.

I've been dying to get to Petsmart but it's supposed to snow tomorrow so I doubt I'll go.
