Unhappy Betta acting weird, help?

Ok, my mother called and something is apparently wrong with her betta. He will barely eat and she has him in a vase (which I told her she shouldn't.) and he keeps digging his head into his glass pebbles and staying there. I asked her if he's been biting his fins and she said he hasen't. Any idea what could be wrong with him?

Probably starving and ammonia. Tell her to do an emergancy waterchange and give him some food. My betta acted like that trying to dig around when I fasted him and needles to say I haven't been able to do that after.

Can you give us more information on his conditions? There's a sticky for that information: how big is the vase? heated? how often is he fed? all that stuff?

I'm sure a two gallon plastic bowl for 12$ isn't too much for ur fishy friend. Maybe his just bored.

I probably have the money. How much do they sell for? But she is the one worrying and I told her and she was like, "He's probably fine! many of my bettas grew up without all of that stuff!" Ugh! She wanted my help and now she won't let me help.

I think 10-15 bucks for the Hydor Mini Heater. You also need a thermometer because it's not adjustable.
