Everybody winds up eating quite a bit of dirt over their lifetimes. But over the age of five (mud pies, anyone?) it not reccomended as a diet.

Anthrax (among other pathogens) can be in your soil... do a scientific analysis of any dirt you fancy to consume!

Don't forget to remove all life (the bugs, worms, fungus and microscopic life forms) before chowing down.

Thought: if you removed all of those things from the soil... all you'd have are various rocks and minerals. Bon apetite! :p

Bwahahaha!

Oh, and plants don't have a nervous system, but they do have chemical reactions within them that sets off a "chain reaction" allowing them to feel. That is how they know where to move & grow. Think of your marimo moss balls, if the water temperature is too cold/warm, they will MOVE. Or if they are getting too much/little light, they'll move. If there is too much current movement, they'll move. Plants have the capability to "think" instinct wise by how they feel... No, they do not have a brain or a nervous system, but because of their "instinct" of survival like any other living organism, they have the ability to detect and feel changes within themselves & their environments to adapt so they can strive.

By the way, I am not saying it is wrong to eat plants, I'm all for eating plants & animals. I am just trying to give a valid point to those who don't believe plants are living organisms... They are!

How come....

Whenever I buy food that calls itself 'Vegetarian' (like vegetarian spam, for example), it's never made with real Vegetarians! Isn't there a law about 'truth in advertsing' and food purity?

If the label says 'vegetarian', I expect it to be made with vegetarians!

I love meat. Never a complete meal without meat.

IMO we are an omnivorous species, meaning we must consume both meats and vegetation.

I think Marimo balls move away from a current because they have no choice... :s Mine have never ever moved before, either. I don't think there's any proof that they do.
