Angelic- this regularly happens, a dog just gets 'fed up' with all the warnings and begins to give warnings. My guy's family has a Miniature Schnauzer and he gives warning bites and growls and 'attacks' when rough played with and most of the time he isn't being aggressive or trying to hurt, he is being played with rough and is 'playing' back.

Im glad you will rehome him to a good home. Bostons are good with kids because of their mellow personalities, but aren't because they're fragile, delicate dogs. If your kids like to rough play, you need a hardier, perhaps larger, breed of dog. A Boston just isn't that, unfortunately. I hope you find a breed that does better! :)

Shimi- that's terrible!! I hope she recovers nicely. ;(

Ladies, this is why regular gyro/OBGYN visits are not something to avoid!!

Kaida- CT Female 2.5 Gal.
Julep- HMPK Male 2.5 Gal.
Fandango-HM Male 10 Gal.

@Shimi: Sorry about your mom. Hope she recovers quickly.

@Angelic: IMO once a dog becomes aggressive and gets away with it, it's best to rehome it. My wife's dog became aggressive because her little bro kept disturbing/teasing it but they (her family) never did anything. Eventually it began to bite everyone. I know this sounds cruel, but IMO you have to be firm with dogs, specially with little children around. If they're shown "who's boss", they will usually submit (?). Otherwise, it's best to be safe than sorry.

Sorry the dog didn't work out for you.

Alright, new update:

She got out of surgery. The tumor they went in to get wasn't there. At first I thought it was a good thing (No tumor, no cancer). However what they did find was a ruptured blood vessel. Had it of popped at a slightly different time (heart or brain) it would have killed her. Luckily they are easy to heal.

Unfortunately it takes a lot to damage a vessel as much as hers was. That means that whatever caused it is big, and that it can and most likely will cause another one. They have her under 24 hour surveillance for the next 4-5 days until they can figure out what did it before it gets worse.

At this point I kinda wish it was just a benign tumor...
