Thanks for the info Diablo, I am still willing to give it a shot to see if I can do it.
Yeah she said there were Damsel fish so I will find out when I go to pick it up later today.
I was thinking of starting small on the reef. Live Sand base, some chunks of live rock to seed some dead coral I have and I have a TON of lava rock/volcanic rock. As well I can easily get Slate and Granite chunk. Even have large chunks of Obsidian. MY family are rock hounds so I know quite a bit, and can get a lot of stuff haha.

So Yeah, I was thinking of just starting small and working with little sections at a time to grow the tank. I don't have the money to build and instant reef.

Thanks everyone. I also found out it'll be another $1600 to recover the files they CAN fix. I don't think I care about those that much.

Amph, be really carefuly with your live rock/sand because they can containing stinging aptaisia (type of anemone) that is virtually impossible to get rid of. Aptaisia can harm any small invertbrates you might get. Also live rock/sand can have thumbsplitter shrimp as hitchhikers. These buggers have such a powerful tail whack that they have been known to crack glass.

For reefs, you want VHO actinic lighting and a very good protein skimmer. You will also want a refugium to cultivate the copepods and microrganisms that corals live on.

Damsels are hardy fish, they're often used to cycle saltwater tanks.

Silverfang, I can picture Ashes clinging to the bedcover with all four paws. "Naaaaaaowwww, I dont' wannna move!"
