I particularly like "Kangaroo", "Banana Land", "My Ranch", "Walmart Factories", and "Boring land mass" :D his size isn't exactly big, to say the least. Midna is just shy of an inch. Just barely. I should hope he'll be fine :/ I plopped a little peice of algae wafer in their last night, let's see if he ate it.

Ohmigosh, those are hilarious, Tiki. Love the Dubya one.

Silverfang, is it normal for apple snails to float? I turned on the light this morning and Gonzo was floating at the top of hte tank. He sank the moment the light came on but he hasn't moved since. I hope he's not dead.

I'm exercising my google-fu, and this is what I got.
Well, apple snails can be very inactive for days and if they have a lot of air in their lung, they float (sounds logical isn't it?). Floating of an apple snail doesn't indicate that there is something wrong or that he/she is dead
To check if the snail is alive, take it out of the water and see if you can get it moving by touching the shell door. If the shell is closed completely, then you can be sure that the snail is alive because once the snail is dead, the muscles are relaxed and the shell door stays at least partly open.

Jen, is the shell door the fleshy part? And thanks for looking htat up. :)

And . . . and . . . I got great news. I just got off the phone with Geek Squad (I'm not good on the phone so the fact that I was able to talk on it was amazing) and . . . and . . . they were able to find my documents after all!!!!!!!!!!!
YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: I just took him out and looked at him and as far as I can tell, his little door is closed completely. That is, it's all flat when I look at it. Thanks, Jen!

I'm assuming it's the fleshy part. It said that if the snail was dead it would be open. And I'm assuming if the snail is dead the muscles wouldn't be contracted and the snail would be falling out. But then again, I'm really drawing experience from the conchs I find on the beach down here.

Did they do what I suggested and turn the old HD into a slave drive? Either way, YAYYYYYY!
