There is a hunt here. I think it starts every spring, like March-ish. Problem is the peta and hsus type groups coming from abroad and making wild accusations and claims about the legitimacy of it. I think more people might be convinced of the facts if Pam Anderson, Reese Witherspoon and other superficial blondies were not paid to endorse them. People, unfortunately, look up to their celebrity role models without prejudice and will follow what they believe. If you ever see a pic of a cute white coat seal as "justification" to stop the seal hunt then you're grossly misled. Whitecoats have been banned since the 80's. Everything that happens on the ice floes is regulated (bc the hunters NEED that for their living, they're not like spoiled teenagers at McDonals).. Anyways, there will always be a vicious circle of this. When the trucks come in to sell seal flippers down on the docks, they sell out SO fast!! I would never eat that but people do love them.

Mo, that fish is GORGEOUS!!! congrats!
Never seen Water for Elephants, I read the book years ago. I never got a chance to see the movie, and I'd be worried about the scenes where they whip the elephants and that mean guy who abuses all the animals! HOw did they replicate that?

Seaweed would be pretty salty. O.o I don't think they'd eat it even.
