Haha, I do but only because where my maternal grandparents lived, there were tons of mosquitos year round (rice farmers so lots of wet fields). I'd get that experience when visiting. That was the type of place where you swam in the pool at night and hated to get out because you were immediately eaten alive.

EDIT: If it wasn't such a forsaken wasteland of a city, I"d live there because you can board a horse for only $300 right in the city next to the park.

Byron said he wouldn't keep them in a tank smaller than 10gal but my LFS had a few in a nano tank, which was originally what I wanted. :/ They're really pretty fish but difficult.

Would a female betta do okay with Harlequin Rasboras and Corys? I posted a thread but no one has answered yet

I think so. :)
They are both schooling fish though I believe.

I just love Bettas so much, so I was wondering if it would be safe to put one there. (:

Elizabeth, yes. It all depends on the betta but overall I think a female betta would do fine with those kinds of fish.

Olympia, haha. Grandfolks lived up in northern California so I don't think they had bettas in the rice fields. Lots of other weird critters there, though. I don't know if anyone has ever heard of Lundberg organic rice but if you have or if you ever see a bag of it, well, those people are from the same tiny town of 200 that my mom's folks are from.

Why would someone feel the need to bring up middle/high school drama just because I was looking out for welfare of their bettas? Really shows how mature they are.

The only way to know if it will work is to try it. Kinda nerve wracking at first though
