Haha, yeah, I hate that. Mine practically line up outside the door watching as we clean the box, waiting for their chance. Cats.

Sakura, you should totally get the flag fish! The hair algae is just a sign that you need them! :D
Also, my fish store started stocking those super fancy aquarium products by ADA designs. I'm really tempted to buy their plant ferts, they are SO concentrated that it's amazing! Plus, it's called "Envy" and I'm a sucker for a fancy name.

MAH TANK. I guess my aquascaping experience is upping a bit. It's so hard to make things look nice.

Olympia, your tank looks gorgeous! But I'm a bit worried about that one goby. Even an eggy goby shouldn't have that pale of a belly. :/ Can you put gobies in epsom salt?

My one LFS carries all of the ADA products. Sooooo tempted but soooo expensive. Even the green thread used to tie moss to wood is $9.99!

Stuff them into the substrate about 6 inches apart.

Are you sure it shouldn't be pale?
On this photo if you enlarge it, the fish's belly does look white and somewhat spotted. :s
Nunus Bumblebee Goby (Brachygobius nunus) Profile
From comparing photos I'm pretty sure mine are the species nunus too.

I'll have to compare it to the other one to see for sure...

I don't know for sure. I'm not that knowledgeable about gobies/brackish fish. I just know that in bettas and freshwater fish, a belly like that is a cause for concern. Maybe gobies are way different. *hopeful* My LFS had a few gobies. Sooo cute!

Well, most fish are lighter on the bottom and darker on the top naturally. So when you look from above the darkness blends, and when you look from below the lightness blends in. Of course usually you won't look at a goby from below.

And, the whole brackish thing. Ugh. I've just given up on it. I can't find any solid proof that they NEED brackish, it just seems they do fine in both. :/ Of course, different species can be very different in needs. But these ones need a pH of 7.5 (would that be brackish?) and mine is 7.6 and hard, so they should at least do okay.
