I should do one. Reuben is always laying on the bottom of the tank, poor guy has no where else to rest. :(

Sakura.. Ohh?

Eeeeee! Knifefish are so cool!

I've often wondered if a black ghost knifefish would work with Sparky because they also use weak electric fields. Would an electric fish be immune to another fish's electricity?

I think they might mess each other up! :O That's an interesting thought though.

The brown knife is a better option in your case too, they won't go over 12". A black knife can potentially reach 20", and they cannot bend their spine so they need a tank that's, I'd say 24" wide so they can turn with some comfort.
I saw a photo of a brown knife on my LFS's facebook so I looked them up.

Brown knifes are really pretty. The one in my fish profile book looks almost copper colored.

Black ghosts are so pretty but you're right, that 20" is potentially daunting. It's hard for me to find tanks that are wider than 15".

When a crypt melts, am I just supposed to trim off the melted part?

Yea, just trim it away. If the whole plant is melting trim the whole thing down to just a tiny stem, it should grow back faster. You get it's tantrum over with, and the trim of live parts should "stress" the plant into growing new leaves faster.

I've been watching videos of brown knifes on youtube.
I swear, every fish I see in action on youtube just makes me want it more.

Just a few leaves here and there. I'll cut 'em all back if they need it.

This is why I'm NOT watching videos. I'm out of space. Can't be tempted any more. No more fish. No more fish. *chants* No more fish.
