I would not put one in with cichilds. O__O

I think bichir and ropefish are pretty reptiley.. well amphibian. They get those little external salamander gills when they're babies!

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Here's an idea:
"I got him small, about 14 months ago I guess, he is now around 7", I got him at around 2" maybe slightly more."
Says 50 gallons is too small for a baby.. Says 80 gallons is a better starting point.
Another person said theirs went from 2" to 11.5" in 10 months.
Reading a lot about them being killed by cichlids, even small ones.

Someone says a 50 gallon breeder is a bare minimum (not an active fish apparently).
36"x19"x19"

taking a break from fish-keeping.

I got ghost shrimps, a mystery snail and one water wisteria after I read all the other posts on this thread and got jealous. I'm currently quarantining all of them in a bowl. Do I have to quarantine the shrimp and the snail? I can't wait!!!

I'll give you a gold star if you can eat a single Balut.

Check this thread out if you want a betta to cuddle with you. This is Jrf456's thread.

Olympia... that does sound like a one in a million shot

I've heard conflicting info on shrimp and snails. I don't QT my shrimp. Considering their sensitivity, it's hard to keep them alive in QT for me.

Plants, qt always

I put the shrimp and the snails in it anyways. I couldn't wait...

But the plant is quarantining.

Olympia, aww. Rats. :( Okay, well, I want what's best for the little guy so I guess I'll leave him at the pet store for now. Asked the LFS if they could order the cichlids I was thinking of, won't know until Tuesday.
