wash your sand till its clean, some sand, depending on color and maker can take like hours to get clean. Uck.. and you know what they say, put a flat hard surface down first to pour the water on, but really, i dont think you need that if you go slow. I pour my water in one spot and it makes a hole in the sand and i just leave it.
George finds the hole very interesting.
ANd the water will get cloudy, true but your filter should clean it out pretty quickly.
Black sands i think are the ones that need hours of cleaning.
