This is awesome. I would love to eat food I raised in the garden :)

YES. My old neighbor raises chickens as pets and we would get eggs here and there. Ohmygod couldn't even bring myself to eat grocery store eggs for a while. They're so much tastier, its subtle but they're so fresh and delicious and full of flavor!!!!

Raw meat is popular as well (don't go ew because steak tartar is considered a delicacy here!) I hope I'm not sickening anyone.. probably Laki.
I go gaga for raw eggs mixed with cocoa powder.. best thing ever...
Actually while it sounds gross and I wouldn't want to live in the same house, I agree with using everything. Waste not, Want not! (as the old war propaganda posters convinced citizens)

Sorrry to bring this all back up! lol It's just... You guys are so chatty when I'm in bed! Actually we watched the movie "The Prestige" last night. Awesome movie!

Why can't you just plunk them in?? Actually, all along I thought you just re-arranged the tank they were already in!
(then you must take pics of them in their new home!)

Good news is Hal sent my edits so now I'm just going through everything.

Laki.. yes, exactly, plus the pig at least comes from a small local farmer in that case.

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Small farmed animals are probably a lot better than large factory farmed meat. The city's largest chicken supplier here has gotten slaps on the wrist for draining their pig processing sludge into a popular leisure lake a few years back but nobody can touch them because they supply the city and probably the island with chicken (and some pork).. Disgusting. That's politics.
Even still, I don't think I could sit and eat a chicken dinner from a small farm. I know the meat is a lot healthier and fresher and without hormones but I have such a girly heart that I would think of it as someone's pet.!!
Like when chef Gordon Ramsey got turkeys for his kids to raise and kill for thanksgiving...

@silverfang- new girlies!! Oh boy! Cannot wait to see them!

Olympia, that's great. :)

Discovered a kuhli swam up into the filter box last night. Heard a huge splash from it and saw the kuhli swim back out.
