Yeah, I totally understand, Olympia. :)

Well, the dude at my LFS. It's hard to keep track of, I have like 3 or 4 LFS I go to.

Oooh, LFS guys.
I can't imagine Sparky would kill an adult angel, or zap one. BUT it might be a good idea to buy fish that you know will not touch him at all. Like, I can imagine one of the larger gourami should be fine. But then you'd need some plants in there for the dude. -sigh- Or an African butterfly fish.

There's a full-grown redhook silver dollar that's been at one store for weeks and I'm so tempted to get it. But $16 is a lot for a potentially fried fish that I wouldn't be able to return. Plus, it always has ich and I have nowhere to QT it. And the plants thing . . . if I got live plants, I'd have to start turning the light on. As it is, even the anubias is dying 'cause it doesn't get enough light.

wow, one male and two females together. What kind of a tank are they in? I mean do you know the brand? you can make it any size. Although i suspect its small.

Haha, well a silver dollar would eat those plants anyways.
That's too bad, but yea, don't want to put anything you can't QT with Sparky, I can't imagine treating the poor guy, scaleless, he's probably sensitive to like everything.
If you found something healthier you could try QT'ing it in Sparky's summer home (if that's not in use anymore).
I think if you posted an ad on craigslist saying you wanted some larger fish you'd get a lot of offers, just gotta find one that'll fit the tank. But, that could be a pain to do as well. "Want a pleco?" "Want a pleco?" Every day.

But I'm worried that so many of the larger fish also tend to be aggressive. I used to think a 55gal was big but now it just seems tiny. If I did try this, it would have to be big enough to withstand a shock but not aggressive or not another bottom dweller. Which leaves me with . . . ?

Haha, so true about the pleco thing. That's what Petsmart gets for selling them smaller than otos and not telling people they get huge.
