This came up when I did a search. But I think a school of them would be pretty expensive, not that hard to find though.
But like, every single fish will want plants, something like duckweed or water sprite for the top. . . With that I think a larger gourami like a pearl or moonlight is worth a shot.

Lots of Denisons around, could easily find one. Plants take up so much room in a tank that is only 13" from front to back. I have water sprite in my 29gal but it's barely hanging on for some reason. Blurgh.

Maybe a sailfin molly? They get 6". I dunno.

Mollies would be like perfect. But your water is soft, might be a concern. They should be hardier than the sword tails though.
(So mean) They're cheap so it can't hurt to try. . .

Mean but true. Just don't wanna spend a fortune for a fish that could be toast.

Maybe a pair of kissing gouramis?

Yea! Kissing gouramis are great!
But still might want to try that molly thing first. Just get like, 2 big males or something.

Yeah. I might try that when I get a chance to breathe. Right now, it's sleep, feed cat, sleep, feed cat, sleep, feed cat. Oops, got water changes tomorrow. Gotta cram that in somewhere.

And speaking of feed cat, now it's time to give her some of her meds. Whoopee.

We only saw one wolf, they were almost extict than. And they are soooo beautiful.
Grrrrr, I hope the wolf god sends his best and takes all those murdering @#$%s DOWN! If I were any where near wyoming I'd be there to shoot back on behalf of the wolves.

May the field of battle favor the wolves, and may the god of man end this madness!
