Don't they need water? I doubt it can be that fast.. Did you check the area around where it's kept? Like, under blankets and stuff? We lost a hamster for a day once and it turned out it was in among the blanket folds at the end of the bed. I know a crab wouldn't be up on a bed (unless they can climb o.o ) but check under everything.

My dog used to really good at finding things like lost pets.

Noo Laki not $7000 for board/food/tuition. $7000 for tuition, board/food is $4500, so total $11,500 for a year (about). In Quebec.
Queen's U is $9500 for tuition, and $10,000 for board (no food..). So $19,500 a year.
I hear school is cheaper on the East coast, is that true? xD

Oh my goodness. I know boarding at Memorial is expensive and it's almost cheaper to rent a room or small apartment. I know my uni offers a service called Off Campus Housing which teams up with landlords and home owners who want to make some money off extra rooms and stuff. All the locations are checked and monitered by OCH staff (like, making sure there are adequate conditions for living etc) and they are relatively cheap. An old co-worker used to rent out 3 spare rooms for like 400-500$ each including meals. So that's 1500$ extra in her pocket per month and students get to live somewhere for cheap.

I've gone off on a tangent.

Check to see the living options around whatever uni you decide to go with!!

Memorial University of Newfoundland (mun) is the cheapest uni east of Montreal, largest campus in Eastern Canada and boasts unique programs and such. There are almost as many international students and students from Canada than there are Newfies!! lol

There are a lot of Nova Scotian students here.

I'm in my 4th year at mun, yes :)
I always kind of wanted to live in res but I know I'd have some people killed with my irritation at the partiers.
Also, I checked one morning while volunteering at a questions booth, mun doesn't allow ANY pets in res. Including fish. SO, if that spooks you I would turn to Off Campus Housing. I was in contact with a few homeowners before we got this place who were totally okay with some pets. At the time I had my geriatric dog and some were okay with that. So it wouldn't hurt to try!

I would just love it if you chose NL. I understand why you wouldn't want to be here long term if you're used to a large city but there are a lot of homely things about Newfoundland. The Marine Institute might be up your ally in terms of aquatic research.
